More construction planned for MCBH

Marine Corps Base Hawaii at Kaneohe Bay has plans for six construction projects as part of the Grow the Force initiative. The work is designed to accommodate nearly a thousand more active-duty personnel and their dependents who are scheduled to be transferred to Hawaii during the next few years.

The expansion is expected to generate millions of dollars in work for the local construction industry as well as additional sales for Windward Oahu retailers.

The six Grow the Force projects were outlined in a final environmental assessment released recently on the program.
